I express on Michael’s writings in an easy manner
I
would venture not many have ever read this passage of Scripture and EVER had
the thoughts Michael gives us in Day 102’s writing! But…once again Michael gives us opportunity
to see why UNBELIEF is so prevalent in the lives of Christians all over this
world…
DAY 102
Forcing Miracles!
Now it came about on one of {those} days, that He and His
disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other
side of the lake.” And they launched out. But as they were sailing along He
fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended upon the lake, and they
{began} to be swamped and to be in danger. And they came to Him and woke Him
up, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And being aroused, He rebuked
the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm. And He said to them, “Where is
your faith?” --Luke 8:22-25
Jesus is asleep,
the storm comes, the disciples are frightened, and they call on Him. Should we not always call on Him
in a storm? They do, and they are rebuked with, “Where is your faith?” Why?
They only did that in which so many today glory, which is forcing Jesus into
performing a miracle. Some have made whole ministries out of forcing
Jesus to do things and being applauded for their great faith. Yet, when the disciples force
deliverance, they are rebuked for having little faith. Again we ask why.
Jesus had permitted the
storm for their perfection. The process was interrupted by unbelief, and Jesus stopped the storm. He
did a miracle at their bidding, but it was not a positive. They should have crawled next to Him
and gone to sleep, resting through the storm that would not have touched them
either way. The storm’s
effect on them was not the issue. What the storm could perfect in them or
expose in them was the issue. Again, in today's Christianity, calling on Jesus and forcing a
miracle is often viewed as proof of spirituality, when just the opposite is
true. For example, one
has a rebellious child. The parent has pleaded and reasoned; he has
acknowledged that he is in a storm. Now a choice must be made between panic and
calling on Jesus to stop the situation or going to lie down next to Him and
resting. Believer,
when the next storm comes, and it will come, what will you do?

Wow! Who would have thought
that? Better still…where is our
faith? And what miracle are we praying
for…perhaps praying so hard for and trying to “force” Jesus to perform, instead
of snuggling up next to Jesus and resting?
Would to God we could learn that His tests and storms are all for our
perfection. And learn that many miracles
we pray for, and get, are not a positive.
The tests and storms are perfecting us, or revealing something else in
us.
Well, amen.
